Dakota Territory Census Research
We are able to search for your ancestors in the Dakota Territory.
If your ancestors were actually enumerated in the Dakotas in 1860, 1870, 1880, or 1885, chances are excellent
that we will find them for you! You will receive a photocopy of the original
census page showing your ancestors "at home" in the
Dakota Territory exactly as they were when the census enumerator stopped by during that summer of 1860, 1870, 1880,
or 1885.
Send us some information (by regular postal mail) about
your ancestors to help us get started, such as name
of head of household and names of other family members.
If you know the dates and places of birth, and places
of residence of your ancestors, that would help,
too. Send us a family group record, if you have one. The more complete and accurate your information, the better
we can help you.
We charge a flat fee of $20 to search for one
family per census year. I ask that you send payment of $20 in advance so that I may conduct a census
search on your behalf.
