The 1900 federal census is the twelfth census of the United States. It was authorized by Congress on March 3, 1899 (30 Stat. 1014-21), and was begun on June 1, 1900. The enumeration was to be completed within thirty days, or two weeks for communities with populations of 10,000 or more.
